SOBO Eco Fayre

DELAYED to 2025 - Sorry!

HHO will have a stand in Fisherman's Walk supporting this great local SOBO event, promoting sustainability and Eco solutions. Lots of great stands and live music.  

Open Days 2025

Spring 2025

We would like to hold a series of events promoting the centre starting in spring with hopefully an open day with the user groups, open to all to raise funds for HHO, to help with our fundraising of the £155,000 target - Watch this space.  

Community Meeting 10 Feb

Come and hear about the plans for a 2025 Opening of Hengistbury Head Outdoors! 

We are holding an open meeting for everyone interested in the future of Hengistbury Head Outdoors.

The meeting is being held at Saint Nicholas Church, 137 Broadway, BH6 4EP on Monday 10th February starting at 7pm.

The aim of the meeting is to update everyone on the revised HHO plans for the coming year. This follows the recent £670,000 award of the Community Ownership Fund (COF) and our final negotiations over a 99 year lease from BCP.

Grounds Clearance 25&26 Jan

As part of our 2025 plans, we need to clear the vegetation that has encroached onto the site and establish exactly where the site boundaries are.  

If you have a battery or petrol driven hedge cutter or strimmer together with suitable PPE (gloves, mask, goggles and boots), we would love to see you on Saturday 25th January between 10am – 4pm. We will be providing coffee, cakes, etc., to keep you going. 

We have also pencilled in 1st/2nd February as reserve dates  

Christmas Party

December 2024

We held a christmas social gathering at the Christchurc Sailing Club. It was a great way to celebrate the season and for members of the society to meet informally. We would like to hold a series of similar members events in 2025.  Watch this space.  

Members Meeting

18th September 2024

Our second formal members' meeting was held on the evening of the 18th September.  This is a regular meeting for all members to attend to hear about our progress and help us guide the future direction of the society.

The next meeting is likely to be in early 2025

Christchurch Carnival

10th & 11th August  2024 

We're totally thrilled to announce that we are one of the 3 local Charity Partners who will benefit from all of your donations and fundraising between now and this year's Christchurch Carnival which is a free community event and is a fun filled weekend, with food, music, and of course the parade and fireworks.

HHSC Fun Day 

Sunday 7th July 2024 1 - 4pm - POSTPONED

One of the user groups, the Hengistbury Head Sailing Club will be holding an Fun Day at the centre, there will be lots do do, and try so pop along. We will be there too! - It's great to see a user group getting fully involved in this way!

St.Nicholas' Summer Fayre

Saturday 6th July 2024 1 - 4pm

Come and support the local church at Hengistbury Head, and help raise funds for their church roof fund roof. HHO will be attending alongside HENRA the local residents association so come along to the community garden at the Church.  

St.Katherine's School Summer Festival

Friday 14th June 2024  4.30 - 7.30pm

The Friends of St.Katherine's school, Hengistbury Head are holding their summer fete, we will have our gazebo and team on hand to help with any questions you may have about HHO. Come and support the school & PTA too. 

Christchurch Sailing Club 

Sunday 28th April 2024

C.S.C are celebrating their 150th Anniversary, with an open day from 10am at the sailing club. The HHO team will be attending with a stand to share in the celebrations.

Dorset Harbour Watch

 10th April 2024

HHO will have a small stand at the upcoming Dorset Police Marine Engagement team's, Dorset Harbour Watch Conference 6pm at the Poole Ferry Terminal - North Building.

BH Activity Junkies - HHO Fundraiser

Easter Saturday 30th March 2024

We are delighted that a fundraising Easter themed fancy dress paddle, will take place leaving Mayors Mead at 10am  to Mudeford Quay via the Centre, all welcome or give us a wave from the bank. (details on FB)

Members Meeting

 18th March 2024

We are holding our first members meeting at 7pm at St. Katherine's Primary School, Hengistbury Head. We are looking forward to sharing our progress and to hearing your thoughts on our ambitions and focus.  

Centre Grounds Tidy Up

 5th March 2024

We are looking for volunteers to come and give us a hand, with some 'gardening' at the centre, 10am start, please bring gloves and wellies!
